Eventbeskrivelse
Urban centres consume more than 75 per cent of natural resources and they are responsible for over 50 per cent of solid waste and emit up to 60 per cent of greenhouse gases, contributing to pollution, climate change and biodiversity loss (source: Ellen McArthur Foundation, Circular cities: thriving, liveable, resilient). You are invited to the workshop Circular Cities taking place on September 25, 2025 at 13.00-16.00 in Roskilde, Denmark where Julian Kirchherr, Associate Professor at Roskilde University and partner at McKinsey & Company, and Mugur Schuppler, PhD candidate at Utrecht University and Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company, will present cutting-edge insights from one of the world’s largest datasets on circular cities, covering approximately 30 global frontrunners.
Get an overview of the current state of circular economy, including European and global policies, innovative business models and emerging startup trends, and learn about new academic research on cities as central arenas for circular transformation. Take also part in interactively co-developing ideas for how Roskilde can shape its own path towards circularity.
