COCONF19
Creating novel ideas and solutions through new partnerships

We all play a central role in achieving UN’s Global Goals, so how exactly are we able to contribute to solving the current challenges? And how can businesses work strategically with the Global Goals to achieve both societal and business advantages?

COCONF is a process of innovation conceived to connect actors, public and private alike, who can create change in our society, our businesses, and processes, through new products as well as new business- and cooperative models.

Hence, for the third year in a row, COCONF is setting the stage to engage actors in social innovation, wherein challenges are qualified, viable ideas are developed, and solutions are tested and implemented.

Change starts locally in Roskilde, where larger organizations pose complex challenges that necessitate cocreation through new partnerships. Businesses, researchers, students, and other actors may contribute as innovators with sustainable solutions and partake in the competition for a potential collaboration surrounding testing and implementation with the business posing the challenge.

Join the COCONF course. On the final day, the jury announces the names of those who have succeeded in creating the best solutions to each of the challenges as winners as well as the champion solution, which constitutes the greatest contribution to the target of achieving the UN’s Global Goals.

The COchallenges of the year are ready to be announced in May. We have aptly dubbed the challenges COchallenges, as they represent a call to cooperation.

We kickstart COCONF19 between 15:00 and 19:15 on the 10th of September 2019 at Roskilde Kongrescenter, where the challengers present their COchallenges.

Between 12:00 and 16:00 on the 10th of October 2019, our COchallenge event is hosted at Roskilde Handelsskole, during which our Challengers will elaborate on their challenges and innovators can develop their solutions via dialogue with the challengers and other potential partners.

Submit your solution before the deadline of November the 4th 2019 and enter into the competition. The format of the solution as well as the criteria are available under COchallenges. If you are chosen to pitch, you must devote time to prepare the pitching of your solution.

Sign up for the main event of the year with inspiring speakers, rounds of pitching, and our very own COsurprise. The event is hosted between 09:00 and 16:00 at Roskilde University.

The winners proceed to engage in a dialogue with the challengers regarding ongoing cooperation, testing, and implementation, as well as the possibilities of applying for grant funds for the project.

"COconference is the perfect place to test if our ideas will work in practice. We’re able to think outside the box and elevate our creativity in a course such as this. At the same time, it has been possible to make suggestions in conjunction with other innovators, for instance Damgaard Rådgivende Ingeniører, Danfoss, SC Nordic, isoplus and Racell in our solution for Fors A/S"

– Jesper Jøns Rømer, Damgaard Rådgivende Ingeniører

"The overarching theme concerning sustainability touches upon nearly all aspects of society. It is something with which we as academic institutions are forced to contend - both in our research and our other operations."

– Peter Kjær, Prorektor Roskilde Universitet

"Often innovators perceive each other to be competitors, but with COconference, a safe platform has been created which encourages cooperation and synergy between organizations."

– Ulrik Eggert Knuth-Winterfeldt, Boligselskabet Sjælland

''COconference is an amazing opportunity for the students to work with real challenges from the business- and public sector, and thereby engage themselves in practice in an entirely new way''

– Jan Nepper Bjerre, Adjunkt med speciale i udviklingen af fremtidens velfærdssamfund, Absalon Professionshøjskole
