Nem, effektiv og fleksibel affaldssortering i alle hjem

Udfordringen

Improve the collection of plastic prepackaging on construction sites

The challenge

On construction sites today, many of the necessary building materials are still delivered in prepackaged plastics. For instance, stone wool insulation is compressed via plastic prepackaging, as it cuts transport costs (by allowing more packages in each load). If plastic prepackaging were collected for recycling, it would be an environmental gain. ROCKWOOL Intl. A/S is seeking solutions able to ensure increased and higher quality collection of prepackaged plastic.

To the right solution, a partnership with ROCKWOOL Intl. A/S  is offered in which the solution can be tried in practice at ROCKWOOL Intl A/S’ ‘Innovation Factory’, as well as by actual carpenters on a construction site.

How do we help citizens improve the sorting of their trash, so that we may recycle even more?

The challenge

There’s a large environmental and economic potential in waste sorting and recycling. But the danes are currently struggling to sort deposit bottles and waste in their homes, on the move, and on the recycling lot. For instance, 140 million cans and bottles still end up in the trash bin or in nature and are therefore recycled inefficiently, or not at all. ARGO has removed the flammable fractions on recycling lots and thereby expect to sort over 11.000 tons more for recycling. ARGO and Dansk Retursystem are seeking solutions as to how they can increase the learning and awareness surrounding sorting and recycling correctly among citizens and companies, in order to optimize the environmental gain associated with this.

How do we create new job opportunities and job market flexibility for disadvantaged citizens?

The challenge

The Danish job market is growing, and the demand for labor is increasing. Hence, it makes a great deal of sense to work towards a job market in which there’s room for people who are having a hard time reentering the job market. For many of the recipients of unemployment benefits or disabilities, unemployment is not their primary challenge, and they are not properly prepared to take on a full-time job. Regrettably in relation to this, the job market is primarily geared towards full-time employees. So how could one rethink the conditions of the workplaces in a way that may contain the diversity of society, and, consequently, employees who are at a disadvantage?

Easy, effective and flexible waste sorting in all homes

The challenge

Everywhere in Denmark, demands are being made to increase waste sorting. Boligselskabet Sjælland wants to support this and ensure that our tenants have the best possible conditions for sorting waste in their homes. Therefore, Boligselskabet Sjælland is requesting new solutions that may ensure correct separation at source throughout the Danish homes. Solutions could be based on options such as containers, supervising, and behavioral regulation, all of which must take into account the challenges that currently face the endeavour, such as severely limited space and a lack of motivation to improve the sorting.

The right solution will be offered a testing platform in the form of one or more of our residential areas, in which the idea can be tried in practice. Furthermore, sparring and an exchange of ideas will be offered during the experimental phase. If a persistent effect can be documented following the ending of the test, Boligselskabet Sjælland will be greatly interested in an ongoing partnership.

How do we make Campus more sustainable through behavioral change?

The challenge

Roughly 10.000 people pass through Roskilde University during their daily work on campus. Each of them makes numerous ‘resource-decisions’ over the course of a day – but is it possible for them to make more environmentally sound decisions? Roskilde Universitet is seeking suggestions as to how they can reduce CO2-emissions and encourage recycling of materials through sustainable behavioral change among students and employees on campus.

Concepts for the innovative forms of living of the future

The challenge

Danes are looking for new, different and climate friendly ways of living. New forms of living and city communities are seeing the light of day, and even the act of sharing is gaining momentum. That’s why Rambøll and Mangor & Nagel Arkitekter are joining forces and requesting analyses of these new tendencies, as well as suggestions for new and innovative forms of living. Could one imagine small nomadic residences dotting the country? Or could one imagine Global Goal homes? Rambøll and Mangor & Nagel Arkitekter are inviting other professions as well as students to come up with ideas, analyses, or entire concepts for new ways of thinking about homes.

To the right solution, a partnership with Rambøll and Mangor & Nagel Arkitekter is offered in which solutions are fully or partially included when project material for housing projects are created for customers or competitions.

Hvordan gør vi Campus mere bæredygtigt gennem ændret adfærd?

Udfordringen
